Global City Briefing

Editorial policy

Global City Briefing aims to make urban form easier to understand. We seek clear explanations, careful distinctions and a visible line between established information, interpretation and uncertainty.

Accuracy and context

We check factual statements against relevant, dependable material before publication and take care not to flatten differences between places. Articles should make their scope clear and avoid implying that one example represents every city. When a claim cannot be established with confidence, we narrow it, qualify it or leave it out.

Independence

Editorial choices are made for their relevance to readers and the publication's subject. A commercial relationship does not buy favourable coverage or a promised editorial outcome. If a connection could reasonably affect how a piece is read, we will explain it alongside the material.

Corrections

If you spot a factual error or an unclear passage, use the Contact page and identify the article and detail in question. We review correction requests, make appropriate changes and indicate meaningful corrections in the article so readers can understand what changed.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid or partner-supported material is clearly identified as such, and its commercial nature is not disguised as independent editorial coverage. Illustrations may be generated with AI; where an image is illustrative rather than a record of a real place or event, it is identified accordingly. Images are not presented as documentary evidence when they are not.
